National Building Specification (NBS)

These clauses are for the Lomax + Wood range of high performance timber windows and doors which have been produced in accordance with the industry standard.

The NBS tool is designed to make the specification process as easy as possible, with a range of product details formatted by NBS. It forms part of the services provided by RIBA, the Royal Institute of British Architects, with an aim of standardising industry information so that builders, architects, contractors and developers use a universal format. Lomax + Wood manufacture quality timber windows and doors with a range of options to create both high performance and sight lines that meet the requirements of conservation and contemporary projects. We are experts in understanding the customer’s requirements and producing the technical information required to ensure they are incorporated into the design of the made-to-order timber windows and timber doors. The sash windows, flush casements and doors that Lomax + Wood provide are designed to produce the very best in timber performance with respect to thermal performance, acoustic and security.

Kensington and Chelsea Box Cords and Weights Sash

Made-to-order, double glazed, high performance, traditionally operated timber sash window for conservation areas and new builds, which capture historical detail while providing modern acoustic and thermal performance. It is internally glazed and fully weather sealed. Shaped and feature windows are available within the range.

Kensington and Chelsea Spring Sash

Made-to-order, double glazed, high performance timber sash window which uses spring balances to operate the sashes. It offers an economical solution for where the end result needs to be historically accurate and pleasing to the eye. It is internally glazed and fully weather sealed to provide thermal and acoustic performance. Shaped and feature windows are available within the range.

Kensington and Chelsea Flush Casement

Made-to-order, double glazed, high performance flush casement window traditionally detailed with a sash that fits flush with the frame and recreates the appealing appearance of casement windows before the introduction of the stormproof casement. The sashes can be operated with friction hinges or traditional butt hinges depending on the project requirements. It is factory double-glazed and fully weather-stripped with engineered timber.

Historic Single Glazed Sash Window

Made-to-order, traditionally operated, single glazed sash window with elegant true glazing bars. Designed to meet English heritage and conservation officer requirements. Externally glazed and weather sealed.

Kensington and Chelsea Entrance Doorset

Made-to-order, double glazed, high performance inward opening timber entrance door. It is internally glazed and fully weather sealed to provide thermal and acoustic performance. Fanlights and sidelight options are available within the range, as well as shaped frame and door.

Kensington and Chelsea French Doorset

Made-to-order, double glazed, high performance timber French doorset. It is internally glazed and fully weather sealed to provide thermal and acoustic performance. Fanlights and sidelight options are available within the range, as well as shaped frame and door.

Made-to-order double glazed, high performance opening outward bi-fold doorset. Internally glazed and fully weather sealed to provide thermal and acoustic performance.

Alu Clad Flush Casement Window

Made-to-order, high performance flush timber casement window with aluminium cladding externally. It offers the natural warmth of timber internally, combined with the durability of aluminium externally. It is internally glazed and fully weather sealed to provide thermal and acoustic performance.

Alu Clad Tilt and Turn Casement Window

Made-to-order high performance flush timber tilt-turn open-in window designed for modern living with a stunning low maintenance aluminium clad exterior, whilst still allowing either a natural timber finish internally or a painted surface to help co-ordinate an overall approach to the internal décor. It is internally glazed and fully weather sealed to provide thermal and acoustic performance.
