Handmade leaded lights for Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust Conservation area wooden windows

As part of a whole house timber window and door replacement project, Lomax + Wood were required to use single glazed true leaded lights to the front elevation.

In total twenty-five wooden windows and three French doors were replaced on the property. In the main these were from the Lomax + Wood high performance timber casement and door range, with special details provided to meet the requirements of the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust.

However, the trust required a number of the front elevation windows to use handmade single glazed leaded lights. This art form is a dying art with great care required in the production of the detailed CAD drawings and then in the hand-made leaded lights.

The end result was wonderful with the mixture of high performance wooden windows and doors sitting comfortably with those made in a traditional manner. View the case study here.
