Timber sash windows lend elegance and period authenticity to homes large and small, from townhouses to country homes to rustic cottages. They were the most common choice throughout the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods. Although they briefly fell out of favour in the early to mid-20th century, they are once again a popular choice for modern homes and commercial properties.

Channel 4's "Britain’s Most Expensive Houses" has featured another one of Lomax & Wood's flagship case studies. This time its Amberwood House. Lomax & Wood was selected to supply and install custom made Timber French doors & casement windows as part of the complete renovation costing more than £28m and its owner is likely to be selling it in the region of £75m.

Lomax + Wood are timber sash window specialists and were the natural choice for a prestigious London project of this nature in a London conservation area. The new buildings helped to restore the historic arrangement of the plots and help unify the mews. The buildings they replaced were built post-1959 and not deemed of merit allowing the opportunity to arise.

This challenging but rewarding project featured high- performance wooden windows with Gothic heads and large sizes up to 4.6m tall. However, the end result is visually stunning and in keeping with properties period design.
