Lomax + Wood provided bespoke timber windows and doors to meet the requirements of Westminster Council for 82 Mount Street, Mayfair. The project comprises four stunning apartments, retail space and offices meticulously designed by the architect.
A stone's throw from Hyde Park just off Park Lane, Mount Street is Mayfair’s premier luxury retailing district, attracting names such as Celine, Goyard, Moynat and Pragnell. It’s also home to The Grosvenor House and The Connaught Hotel.
Both the Sales and Processing departments worked with the contractor and architect to ensure that the windows and doors met all the criteria set by Westminster Council conversation officers. The traditionally hung wooden box sash windows have been manufactured with slim double-glazed units, just 14mm thick. These DG units have been individually putty glazed within 28mm Ovolo glazing bars, creating a flawless traditional look to match the existing.

As well as the demanding aesthetical requirements for this project, Lomax + Wood also had to overcome the technical requirements too. Several of the windows on the lower ground floor need to be fire-rated. Working closely with Vetrotech, part of the Saint-Gobain group, Lomax + Wood was able to offer a made-to-order window to meet integrity/insulation requirements for the fire windows required.
Overall, this project was challenging, but Lomax + Wood specialises in producing high-performance, made-to-order timber windows and doors to meet our clients' specifications and aesthetic requirements.
