High performance, timber sash windows from the Kensington & Chelsea range by Lomax + Wood have been designed, manufactured and installed in a historic commercial building in the City of London.

Renowned for products in the comprehensive Kensington & Chelsea range of sash and casement windows, together with a full suite of bi-fold, French, balcony, sliding, and entrance doors, the timber sash windows in this project replaced poor quality, single glazed sash windows installed 40 – 50 years ago.

“We had to satisfy local planners with the design and aesthetics of the wooden sash window replacements as it was essential to match exactly the architectural style of the building and replicate elegant and authentic sightlines. We made several samples for the planner’s consideration,” says Andy Goding, sales director, Lomax + Wood, “but the success of this project is testimony to our design knowledge and our capacity to handle large orders of a specialist nature; on time and within budget.”

Manufactured from BM TRADA FSC® Chain of Custody certificated timber, which is engineered for maximum strength and stability, these high-quality windows will provide warmth and comfort with high U-values that meet the requirements of Pt L Building Regulations. At the same time, their acoustic qualities will absorb high levels of traffic noise from this busy one-way London street.

Kensington & Chelsea windows and doors are supplied with three coats of highly durable micro-porous paint or stain from a wide selection of RAL and heritage colours. Installation is available from a choice of services, allowing customers to choose precisely the right degree of flexibility and responsibility.
