Frequently Asked Questions

To help you better understand the benefits of our bespoke timber doors, we've compiled answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. From installation to customisation, find all the essential information you need to make an informed decision.

What does 'bespoke' mean for timber doors?

Bespoke means your doors are made to order specifically for your project. We manufacture each door to your exact measurements, design preferences, finish choices, and hardware specifications, ensuring a perfect fit and unique aesthetic tailored to your requirements.

Are your French doors secure?

Yes - our French doors are tested to achieve PAS24:2016 as standard, we can incorporate toughened glass, and our doors also feature robust hardware such as espagnolette locking systems and mortice deadlock and door handles.

What types of timber do you use?

We use premium quality hardwoods and softwoods, all sourced from FSC® or PEFC certified sustainable forests. The specific timber species can be selected based on your preferences, budget, and the performance characteristics required for your project.

Where do you install wooden doors?

We offer a range of service packages to suit your needs, ranging from supply-only packages to full installation of our products. Please note that our installation service is only available to those within the following postcodes: AL, BR, CO, CB, CM, CR, DA, E, EC, EN, GU, HA, HP, IP, IG, KT, LU, ME, MK, N, NR, NW, OX, RH, RG, RM, SE, SM, SG, SS, SL, SW, TN, TW, UB, W, WD and WC.

What is the difference between French doors and double doors?

French doors feature glass panels throughout their length, whilst double doors may be solid or partially glazed. French doors typically open outwards in pairs.

Can you make doors for listed buildings or conservation areas?

Absolutely. We have extensive experience creating bespoke timber doors for heritage properties, listed buildings, and conservation areas. Our designs can incorporate period-appropriate details while meeting modern building regulations and performance standards.

Are your doors suitable for commercial projects?

Yes, our bespoke timber doors are suitable for both residential and commercial applications. We supply doors for new builds, renovations, hotels, offices, and public buildings across the UK.
